Daon Naru
About the restaurant
This hanok cafe in Gangseo-gu, Busan, catches the eye with its antique, L-shaped structure. Its name combines ‘Daon,’ a native Korean word meaning that good things come all at once, and ‘Naru’ (ferry landing), meaning a resting place set along the Joman River and the West Nakdong River. The name also evokes ‘Daonna,’ which means ‘everyone come’ in the Gyeongsang dialect. Inside the cafe, you can take in the spacious yard through floor-to-ceiling glass, and the space is decorated with the warm, emotional atmosphere unique to hanok. The annex, Jieumdang, has a small room with ondol (underfloor heating), perfect for a private stay. Outside Jieumdang there are also outdoor tables where you can enjoy the warm sunshine and gentle breeze.
