About the restaurant
Jagalchi Live Seafood Center is the heart of Busan's famous Jagalchi Market — Korea's largest seafood market. On the ground floor, vendors in rubber boots and aprons stand before bubbling tanks packed with live octopus, flounder, sea bream, abalone, king crab, sea cucumber, and much more. Choose your seafood from the tanks and take it up to one of the market restaurants on the 2nd or 3rd floor, where the ajumma staff will slice it into fresh sashimi (hoe) right before your eyes. Prices fluctuate with the market, but are generally more affordable than standalone restaurants. Open from 6am, the market is most vibrant in the early morning and early evening. The annual Jagalchi Festival in October is a spectacular street food and performance event.
