Haeundae Seed Hotteok

Haeundae Ssiat Hotteok is the most famous street food stall in Haeundae — a tiny stand near the beach entrance that has been frying its signature seed hotteok for decades. Hotteok is a stuffed Korean pancake, but the Busan ssiat (seed) version is uniquely flat and crispy, filled with sweet brown sugar, honey, and mixed seeds (sunflower, pumpkin, peanut), then pressed flat on the griddle until caramelized and crackly. At 1,500 won each, it is extraordinary value. In summer, queue times can stretch to over an hour — arrive early or just before closing. Eating one while strolling along Haeundae Beach is a quintessential Busan memory.
