Busan Cinema Center

Busan Cinema Center is the official dedicated screening venue of the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) and a multi-purpose cultural and arts complex, located along the Suyeonggang River in Haeundae-gu. Designed by the world-renowned Austrian architecture group Coop Himmelb(l)au and completed in 2011, it drew the attention of the architectural world with the world's longest cantilever roof structure (111 m).

The Sky Theater (a large outdoor screen) is the world's largest outdoor film screening space and the main stage for the BIFF opening and closing ceremonies. BIFF Hill is the main screening building, with four theaters (about 3,500 seats in total). The Double Cone space is used for multiple purposes, including exhibitions, performances and events.

When the sun goes down, Busan Cinema Center takes on a completely different look. Thousands of LED lights installed throughout the massive cantilever roof light up, brilliantly coloring the banks of the Suyeonggang River. The illuminated scenery reflected on the river has firmly established itself as a new night-view spot in Busan.

In addition to BIFF (October), it runs a variety of cultural programs throughout the year, including film screenings, performances, exhibitions and classical concerts. You can also enjoy an evening cultural stroll linked with the Suyeonggang River trail.
