Dudo Island
Dudo Island Overview
Dudaedo is an island located to the southeast of Songdo Bando in Seo-gu, Busan. The name Dudaedo originates from Dae-gari Island, and people in the surrounding areas still refer to it as Dae-gari Island. Additionally, Dudaedo is considered the paradise of the Busan symbol, the gull, where numerous gulls can be encountered. A variety of native plants such as honeysuckle, bixi, and sea cypress, as well as sea corals, are commonly found here. Along the coastal cliff, the lower Dadaepo Formation and volcanic rocks deposited at the end of the Cretaceous period form scenic landscapes, and unique and diverse geological records such as dinosaur egg nest fossils, unconformities, faults, and flower clusters can be observed. Furthermore, it is located close to the mainland and is a favored spot for anglers, and there is a lighthouse installed here to serve as a guide for navigating vessels.
