Jukdo Park Overview

Jukdo Park is a park created with a dense natural forest, also known as Songjeong Park. It is located on Jukdo Island to the east of Songjeong Beach, and the place name Jukdo is said to have been given because a large amount of bamboo grew there to the extent that arrows for wartime use were manufactured in Gyeongsang Left Naval Command. Jukdo Park provides a comfortable resting space not only for tourists visiting the Beach but also for local residents. The long trail leading up the hill along the park is paved with smooth stone floors, and various commemorative sculptures are erected, providing sights to see. Chairs are placed throughout, allowing visitors to rest while strolling through the park. The hermitage Songiljeong, located at the end of the rocks at the innermost part of Jukdo Park, is well known for its sunrise and moonrise, and the sea view from Songiljeong boasts refreshing scenery. Long walls are built around Songiljeong, making it very suitable for couples to lean against the walls and enjoy romance while admiring the rising sun and moonlight with the sea as a backdrop. Two Songjeong lighthouses, standing tall at the entrance of Jukdo Park and creating a striking contrast of white and red, add charm.
