Hoedong Reservoir

Hoedong Reservoir is also called 'Geumjeong Hoedong Lake'. It is a water source for Busan residents, located in a mountainous area within the city adjacent to five neighborhoods, including Hoedong-dong and Seon-dong in Geumjeong-gu, Busan Metropolitan City. Completed between 1946 and 1967, it is known as an important source of drinking water and a place of recreation for the people of Busan. During the Joseon Dynasty, scholars of Neo-Confucianism who lived here in seclusion called its beautiful scenery 'Oryundae'. Designated as a water source protection area, it was off-limits to the public until it was opened to citizens in January 2010. In addition to its function as a water source, it is loved by citizens as a place to feel healed in the middle of the city, with attractions such as the Ttangmoesan red clay forest trail, a hinoki cypress forest and the Galmaetgil Trail.
A Dulle-gil Trail has been created around Hoedong Reservoir. It is 21 km long in total, starting from Dongdaegyo Bridge and ending at the Hoedong-dong bus depot. The path is flat, so anyone can walk it comfortably.
You can also enjoy the Hoedong Reservoir Tour, which starts from Nurigyo Bridge on Hoedong Lake, passes through Sanghyeon Village, the Oryundae Observatory, the ecological exploration trail (bamboo forest path), the Ttangmoesan red clay forest trail and the Ttangmoesan waterside deck, and ends at Dongdaegyo Bridge.
