Hangni Port (Hangni Breakwater) Overview

Ilgwang Beach, Gijang-gun, Busan Metropolitan City, is an old harbor along the Gijang coast. Following Daebyeon Port, famous for anchovies, and Chiram Port, famous for oysters, Ilgwang Beach is one of the largest harbors in Gijang-gun and thus has a breakwater built to protect fishing vessels. It distributes and sells fresh fish, and visitors can stroll along the coastal path connecting the fishing village of Hakri-maebul to Ilgwang Beach in the north. It is also the place where, in the entire country, seaweed and kelp farming was first established and successfully implemented. This harbor is characterized by its large and small breakwaters and red and white lighthouses, which embody the scenery of the fishing village.
