Busan Braille Library

The Busan Braille Library was established with the purpose of enabling visually impaired individuals, who have been marginalized from print media, to engage in literacy through braille, audio, and various electronic devices, and to contribute to the enhancement of cultural welfare for the visually impaired by promoting improved public awareness of disability issues among citizens. Major services include the production of braille and electronic materials, audio materials, book lending, promotion of reading, operation of a digital library, and public relations and awareness-raising activities. Types of books available for the visually impaired include braille, electronic, and audio-visual materials, and books can be requested by phone or email. After a loan request is submitted, books are delivered via mail or courier. For returns, patrons may bring the books to the post office or call the library to register the return online, at which point a postal worker will visit to collect the books for return.
