Busan Freedom Hall (Busan Unification Center)
Busan Freedom Hall (Busan Unification Center) Overview
The Unification Hall (Busan Freedom Hall) operates an exhibition hall and an outdoor exhibition hall aimed at reviewing the Korean War, alleviating the disparities between the South and North, and playing a central role in forming a community across economic, social, and cultural fields. It also conducts rental events for the large hall and lecture rooms of the Freedom Hall.
On the first floor of the Unification Hall, there is a video presentation introducing the concept and content of unification through a train heading toward the continent, and visitors can participate in stamp experiences, puzzle experiences, and drawing activities related to North Korea. On the second floor exhibition hall, there is a photo exhibition documenting the historical traces of Busan during the Korean War, organized under four themes: "Busan Waiting for Unification," "Unification Through History," "Life in North Korea," and "Unification and the Future." This exhibition covers the traces of evacuation in Busan, current issues and status related to unification, the prolonged tension and efforts toward reconciliation since the division of the Korean Peninsula, and helps visitors understand the legitimacy of unification through historical records of unification. In addition, it introduces recent life in North Korea, historical sites and artifacts from North Korea, the future vision of a unified Korea, the benefits of unification, and unification policies. In the outdoor exhibition space, there are displays of nine types of war-related items, in addition to the F-86 aircraft.
