Busan Metropolitan City Gijang Library Overview

Opened in March 2003, the Busan Gijang Library serves as the center of knowledge, information, and culture for the local community, striving to improve the quality of life for residents and contributing to the establishment of a reading culture and the normalization of reading habits by providing diverse opportunities for reading culture experiences. As a space where residents can share and communicate their thoughts and experiences, it fulfills its role as a space for cultural life and information provision to lead the information society of the 21st century. The Gijang Library consists of one basement floor and three above-ground floors. The basement houses an audiovisual room and a snack shop, while the first floor features spaces for children, including a children's reading room and a children's reading room. The second floor contains a multimedia room and a general reference room, and the third floor has a reading room. Through an open bulletin board, the library strives to be an open library by reflecting residents' opinions. As a public library, it fulfills its duty as a transmitter of culture and history by systematically collecting, preserving, and passing on intellectual cultural heritage. To establish the foundation of a digital library, it provides various digital materials to promptly deliver cutting-edge information.
