Busan Metropolitan City Citizens' Library

Busan Metropolitan City Municipal Library was established in 1901 as the Busan branch of Hongdohoe and is now a place with a 120-year history that can be considered the origin of Korea's public library system. A citizen library leading 21st century integrated society operates as a multifunctional cultural space by providing customized knowledge and information services, supporting reading information services using big data, operating and offering lifelong learning programs based on choice and focus, and promoting nationwide reading habits based on over 940,000 volumes. The library is composed of various reading rooms such as a children's room, a digital materials room, and a genealogy materials room, 970 seats of reading rooms, club rooms, lecture rooms, and other convenience facilities.
