Sindong-a Seafood Market Overview
There are 186 raw fish restaurants located at the Sin Dong-a Seafood Comprehensive Market (Sin Dong-a Center), which was completed in 1987. Underground there are food centers gathering, where you can taste Gomjangeo and Gopchang made with fresh ingredients from Jagalchi Market, seasoned with Busan's distinctive spicy sauce, which is deliciously well-balanced. On the 1st floor, there are stalls selling fresh fish, abalone, and other sea food; on the 2nd floor, there are shops selling various dried seafood, welcoming guests with cool sea breeze. On the 3rd floor, there are many raw fish restaurants concentrated, and if you choose the meat directly from the 1st floor, you can enjoy fresh raw fish. You can directly choose fresh fish that is trustworthy and affordable, so it is loved as the No. 1 tourist course at Jagalchi Market.
In 1992, Sin Dong-a, Jagalchi Market (Seafood Association), launched and held the Jagalchi Seafood Festival in Nampo-dong to preserve the district's business. In 2009, Jagalchi was designated as a Cultural Forum Market Town (Sin Dong-a, Seafood, Jagalchi Market Seafood Association, Nampo Underground Shopping Street, Gwangbok Underground Shopping Street, Sincheonji Department Store). In 2010, through the first business university (education, training), it focused on cultivating business mindset and enhancing various services to improve the market's competitiveness.
