Busanjin Market Overview

Busanjin Market is a place famous for its specialized in textiles and raw materials, and is ranked among the top three markets nationwide together with Dongdaemun Market in Seoul and Seowon Market in Daegu. Over 1,350 shops selling a wide variety of products, including items comparable to a department store, are located there.
It started as a daily permanent market in September 1913 and established a market prosperity association in October 1930. In March 1.968, construction of the current Busanjin Market building began, and the following year it was transformed into a modern building with two underground floors and three above-ground floors.
Shops selling traditional Korean clothing, raw materials, quilts, tableware, and other household items, as well as clothing and accessories, and seafood, meat products, and snack shops are all operating, offering a wide range of products. Particularly, there are over 600 shops specializing in textiles and raw materials, making it a market visited by wholesale traders from Gyeongnam and nationwide.
Facilities include a lounge where one can enjoy computers and Go, a child care lounge for parents' convenience, a gathering plaza on the roof, and a separate parking building capable of accommodating 1,000 vehicles.
