Gwangan Bridge

Gwangan Bridge (광안대교), officially named Gwangandaegyo, is a 7.42km double-deck suspension bridge connecting Suyeong-gu to Haeundae-gu — the longest bridge in Busan and one of the most photographed structures in Korea. The bridge's 35,000 LED lights create one of Korea's most spectacular night light shows, visible from Gwangalli Beach directly opposite. Every Friday night the lighting sequences change, and during special events like the Busan Fireworks Festival, the bridge is illuminated in synchronization with the fireworks. The upper deck carries vehicles; the lower deck (opened 2014) carries additional lanes during peak hours. For the best photos, head to Gwangalli Beach at night or hire a kayak to paddle directly beneath its towers.
