Jagalchi Market

Jagalchi Market is South Korea's largest seafood market, located along the waterfront in Nampo-dong. Since the 1940s, this iconic market has been the hub of Busan's maritime economy, with tuna auctions starting as early as 2am and vendors hawking everything from live octopus and sea urchins to dried fish and shellfish. The multi-story Jagalchi building houses dozens of restaurants on the upper floors where you can have your freshly chosen seafood prepared on the spot. Outside, rows of ajeossi and haenyeo (female divers) sell their catches directly from styrofoam bins.
