Oryukdo Overview
Oryukdo is a group of six small rocky islets located at the end of the Igidae coastal area in Nam-gu, Busan, and is a historic and natural landmark regarded as both a symbol of Busan and the starting point of Korea. The name "Oryukdo" originates from the fact that it appears as five islets during high tide and six islets during low tide.
History of Oryukdo
Oryukdo has been a navigational reference point for ships traveling to and from Busan Port since the Joseon period. During the Japanese colonial era, it became a site of forced labor, and after liberation, a lighthouse was installed and remains in operation today. It was designated as National Historic Site No. 24 in 2007.
Igidae Coastal Walk
The Igidae Coastal Walk begins at the Oryukdo Skywalk and spans a total of 4.7 km, offering a top-tier coastal hiking route that follows sea cliffs, caves, Mongdol Beach, and dinosaur footprints fossils. There are numerous viewpoints where Oryuk's appearance is best seen.
Oryukdo Cruise
Taking the cruise departing from the Oryukdo wharf allows visitors to view Oryukdo up close from the sea. The experience of observing the unique shapes of each of the six islets and the rugged cliffs carved by nature is completely different from viewing them from land.
