Yeongdodaegyo Bridge Night View
Yeongdodaegyo Bridge Night View Overview
Yeongdodaegyo Bridge is the first bascule bridge in Asia, opened in 1934, and is a special structure in which part of the bridge is raised upward. This bridge connecting Jung-gu and Yeongdo-gu in Busan holds deep historical significance as a place where refugees during the 6.25 War promised to meet with their separated families.
After reopening in 2013, the bridge-opening ceremony takes place every Saturday from 2:00 PM for 15 minutes. Many tourists gather every Saturday to watch this performance of the bridge being raised. It is recommended to secure a viewing spot by 1:50 PM.
At night, the night view of Yeongdodaegyo Bridge, beautifully illuminated with LED lights, blends with the area around Busan Port to create a special atmosphere. It is naturally included in a tour of the old downtown area, located a 5- to 10-minute walk from Jagalchi Market and BIFF Square.
