Yeongdo Bridge Night View
Yeongdo Bridge Night View Overview
Yeongdo Bridge (영도대교), opened in 1934, is East Asia's first bascule drawbridge — the section facing Nampo-dong lifts vertically to allow tall vessels through. During the Korean War, it became a legendary meeting point where separated families would wait for each other. The bridge is steeped in historical and cultural significance; it was fully restored in 2013 and a daily draw-opening ceremony now takes place at 2pm. At night, the illuminated bridge and the reflections on Busan Port create a stunning vista. Visitors can watch the lift ceremony from the Yeongdo side or from the Nampo-dong promenade. It's a short walk from BIFF Square and Jagalchi Market.
