Gadeokdo Island
Gadeokdo Island Overview
Gadeokdo Island has a magnificent natural landscape with a refreshing blue sea resembling a painting. The village of Jeonggopo, where ships once moored, is characterized by narrow alleys decorated with murals. Historical traces of the Japanese occupation period, including fortifications and bullet scars, remain. The Gadeokdo Lighthouse, established during the Korean Empire era, operates a 100th anniversary Memorial Hall and experiential programs. In Daehang-dong Seba-ji village, more than ten artificial caves built during the Pacific War still remain. One can find the essence of Busan in Gadeokdo, where culture, history, and nature converge.
