Nakdong River Estuary

The Nakdonggang River Estuary geological site located in Saha-gu, Busan Metropolitan City is a cultural heritage protection zone designated as a natural monument. The Nakdonggang River Estuary features large and small coastal stacks exposed beyond the water surface, and extensive tidal flats, with large and small coastal stacks such as Damae-dong, Myeong-gong-muri, Jangja-do, Shinja-do, Bakkhap-dong, Do-yo-dong, and Jin-u-do forming a magnificent landscape. The Nakdonggang River Estuary Geological Park extends from the Eulsukdo Nakdonggang River Estuary Exploration Site, through the Nakdonggang River Eco Center, Nakdong River Estuary Bank, Jangnim Port, Hongti Port, Amisan Observatory, to Dadaepo Beach. The Nakdonggang River Estuary Eco Center functions as the geological park's information center, offering various geological site exhibitions, videos, and estuary field surveys. At the Amisan Observatory, visitors can view the coastal stacks and Nakjoo, enjoying natural scenic views, and also see various materials about the geological heritage, including the formation process of the estuary triangle. The estuary triangle landform of the Nakdonggang River Estuary is not common in Korea and boasts the largest scale in the country, making it a geological site of extremely high geological value.
