Busan Metropolitan City Central Library Overview

Central Library opened in 1990 as an information and culture center aiming to become a leading library, located in the foothills of Busan where Democracy Park is situated, and constructed as a quiet and comfortable facility. Central Library operates various programs to enhance the quality of life for local residents through provision of diverse information services and integration of lifelong learning into daily life, and develops diverse reading culture programs focusing on the history and culture of Busan as its specialized theme, and performs its role as an advanced knowledge and information culture center by offering customized English reading support and promoting English reading as part of daily life, along with parent education and training programs. To realize the 21st century theme of information culture, Central Library aims to become a library centered on books and users, growing and developing together with local residents through information culture.
